Many, many thanks to volunteers from the Mickledfield Job Club for giving the front of St Peter’s Church a much needed facelift. Brilliant job.
There are so many fruitful connections & interactions across different agencies that have enabled this project to happen. Micklefield Job Club, Micklefield Community Library (where the Job Club meets), local Micklefield Churches working together, involvement of Christians from other churches in the town,along with District Council Support. Surely a healthy mix that makes all sorts of things possible and sustainable. Well done to everyone involved in this project.

Hi Chris – This was put into context and we must not allow the contractors/sub-contractors to swollow this Community cohesive response to WORKLESSNESS through JOB CLUBS programme – as it would loose it’s momentum and true purpose and is not part of the BIG SOCIETY.

There are some details of some other job clubs in the UK on our “Job Clubs” page and a lot of useful information on our web site for the White Collar Unemployed community although much of it is useful for anyone who is unemployed.

UPDATE 24th March 2010
I am delighted to tell you that thanks to tip offs from Cllr. Peter Lake our local County Councillor and Kathy Staff our Deputy Town Clerk we have managed to acquire a free van which has been used by our soon to retire Community Warden from Sevenoaks District Council. My thanks also to Richard Wilson from SDC.
